A team of medical device injury lawyers and attorneys is investigating injury lawsuit claims of women who suffered complications, side effects or injuries from transvaginal mesh products used in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence, including Ethicon Gynecare Gynemesh and Gynemesh PS.
Gynecare Gynemesh Lawsuit Cases
Gynecare Gynemesh lawsuit and settlement cases potentially being investigated include claims of women who had an Ethicon Gynecare Gynemesh surgically implanted and claim to have suffered serious mesh problems, injuries, side-effects or complications including, mesh revision surgery to remove or replace the Gynecare Gynemesh mesh, to repair damage to pelvic organs, tissue, or nerves near the site of the Gynecare Gynemesh mesh and/or additional surgeries or re-operations to treat the recurrence of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) or pelvic organ prolapse (POP), among others.
Gynecare Gynemesh was first introduced in 2002. Gynemesh is woven, knitted or porous material comprised of a non-bioabsorbable synthetic polymer (e.g., polypropylene) intended to be permanently implanted into a female patient for reinforcement and/or bridging of supporting tissues of the pelvic floor for the surgical treatment of vaginal pelvic organ prolapse (POP), such anterior, posterior, or apical prolapse repair. Gynemesh was derived from a product known as Prolene Mesh, which was used in the treatment of medical conditions in the female pelvis.
