If you or a loved one had pelvic mesh revision surgery to correct, repair or remove vaginal mesh, transvaginal tape, bladder sling or pelvic mesh, you may be entitled to recover compensation from a transvaginal pelvic mesh revision surgery lawsuit or settlement.
A team of medical device injury lawyers and class action attorneys is investigating claims of women and their spouses who have had to undergo a vaginal mesh revision surgery, or multiple surgeries, to repair, correct or remove transvaginal mesh (TVM), transvaginal tape (TVT), bladder sling or other feminine pelvic repair product due to mesh complications and injuries.
Revision surgery is surgery to replace or compensate for a failed medical device implant (such as a failed transvaginal mesh implant) of a previous surgery. For example, vaginal pelvic mesh revision surgery is a type of corrective surgery to adjust or remove vaginal mesh used in pelvic floor reconstructive procedures, to repair organs, tissue, or nerves damaged by vaginal mesh or to fix the recurrence of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) or recurrence of pelvic organ prolapse (POP).

Vaginal Mesh Removal, Replacement or Repair
Severe pelvic mesh complications can require surgery to remove, replace or repair the mesh. Corrective surgery or surgical intervention is often needed when the transvaginal mesh obstructs the urethra, causes a fistula or damages the bowel, bladder, blood vessels or nerves.
The complexity of corrective surgery can vary depending on the severity of the mesh complications. A gynecologist, urologist, urogynecologist (urogyn) or pelvic reconstructive surgeon may trim the exposed or eroded vaginal mesh, may release the arms of the mesh via incisions to release tension or may try to completely remove the pelvic mesh. Treatment of vaginal mesh failure can be complicated and require multiple surgeries and re-operations. Mesh removal surgery can be very difficult if the mesh is embedded in nearby tissue or blood vessels. Surrounding tissue may be cut out and the area stitched together.
Complications and risks associated with transvaginal mesh revision surgery can include, among other things, infection, bleeding, nerve damage, damage to intestines, bladder or other nearby organs, damage to nearby arteries or veins, bad reactions to anesthesia, rectal injury, ureteral injury, and/or additional surgery or surgeries if the pelvic organ prolapse or stress urinary incontinence recurs or returns.
If you or a loved one had revision surgery to remove or repair vaginal pelvic mesh, you may be entitled to compensation from a pelvic mesh revision lawsuit or settlement. Contact a medical device injury lawyer to request a free case review.
