The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on July 24, 2019 that it requested that Allergan, the manufacturer of a textured implant, recall specific models of its textured breast implants from the U.S. market due to the risk of a rare lymphoma cancer called BIA-ALCL.
According to the FDA, “continued distribution of Allergan’s BIOCELL textured breast implants would likely cause serious, adverse health consequences, including death, from BIA-ALCL.”
Following the FDA’s request, Allergan notified the FDA that it was recalling their biocell textured breast implant products.

Allergan breast implant cancer lawsuit and settlement cases potentially being investigated include claims of women who suffered serious injuries, side-effects or complications including Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) after receiving recalled Allergan textured breast implants and/or breast tissue expanders.
