CPAP Recall Lawsuit: Were You (or a Loved One) Injured After Using a Recalled C-PAP Machine or Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Device?

CPAP Recall Lawsuit cases settlement claims C-PAP Continuous Positive Airway Pressure

If you or a loved one were injured after using a recalled CPAP machine or continuous positive airway pressure device, you may be entitled to compensation from a CPAP recall lawsuit or settlement.

A team of medical device injury lawyers and class action attorneys is investigating potential lawsuit and settlement cases of individuals who claim to have been injured after using certain recalled CPAP or continuous positive airway pressure devices containing polyester-based polyurethane PE-PUR sound abatement foam.

Urgent Medical Device Recall notices have reportedly been sent to Philips Respironics customers advising of the CPAP devices’ sound abatement foam’s susceptibility to degradation and volatile organic compound emission, which can potentially result in serious injury which can be life-threatening, cause permanent impairment, and/or require medical intervention to preclude permanent impairment.

CPAP Recall Lawsuit Cases & Settlement Claims

CPAP recall lawsuit and settlement claims potentially being investigated include claims involving the following recalled CPAP machines:

CPAP, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, or C-PAP machines are a type of breathing device that use a form of positive airway pressure (PAP), whereby air flow is steadily introduced into the airways to maintain a continuous pressure for both inhalation and exhalation to constantly keep the airways open in patients who have difficulty breathing.

A CPAP machine uses a hose and mask or nose piece that fits over a patient’s mouth and/or nose to deliver a constant level of pressure greater than atmospheric pressure which is continuously applied to a patient’s upper respiratory tract. The constant stream of air opens and keeps the upper airway unobstructed during inhalation and exhalation.

C-PAP machines are commonly used to treat breathing disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea OSA (a common sleep-related breathing disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of complete or partial obstruction of the upper airway leading to reduced or absent breathing during sleep) and to treat preterm infants with underdeveloped lungs.

CPAP machines are also used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), obesity hypoventilation syndrome (a condition in some obese people in which poor breathing leads to lower oxygen and higher carbon dioxide levels in the blood), pneumonia, asthma flare-up, poor breathing after surgery, cardiopulmonary disorder, or neurological disease or neuromuscular disorder that disturbs breathing.

C-PAP Recall Injuries & Complications

CPAP recall injury lawsuit cases being potentially being investigated include claims of individuals who, after using a recalled C-PAP device, suffered serious injuries or complications, including the following:

If you or someone you love used a C-PAP machine or continuous positive airway pressure device and suffered from cancer or serious lung injury, you may be entitled to recover compensation from a CPAP lawsuit case or settlement claim.
