If you or a loved one suffered a stroke after vaping or using an e-cigarette, you may be entitled to recover compensation from an e-cigarette stroke lawsuit or settlement.
A team of products liability injury lawyers and class action attorneys is investigating potential e-cigarette lawsuit and settlement claims of individuals who suffered a stroke after vaping or using e-cigarettes.
A stroke (a/k/a CVA or cerebrovascular accident) occurs when the blood supply to the brain is interupted or reduced resulting in a lack of oxygen and nutrients to the brain and causing brain cells to die. Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability in the U.S.
There are two main types of strokes: ischemic stroke (due to a lack of blood flow to the brain) and hemorrhagic stroke (due to bleeding, often from a rupture or bursting of a blood vessel). Ischemic strokes consist of thrombotic strokes (blood clot forms in artery that supplies blood to the brain) or embolic (blood clot or other blockage forms away from the brain and travels in bloodstream to narrower brain arteries).
The American Heart Association (AHA) released the results of a study that found that individuals who used e-cigarettes had a higher risk of stroke than those who didn’t use e-cigarettes. According to the American College of Cardiology, another study also showed that e-cigarette users were more likely to suffer a stroke than those who did not vape. In another study, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania found that vaping may result in reduced blood flow and impaired endotheliel function in blood vessels, even in e-cigarettes without nicotine.
Types of E-Cigarette Stroke Lawsuit Cases
E-cigarette lawsuit and settlement cases potentially being investigated include claims of individuals, including teenagers, who suffered a stroke (or strokes) after vaping or using e-cigarette products.
